So I was all “Hmm, not bad” until I hit the fullview links and physically recoiled from my screen.

Seriously, though, I thought ‘oh that’s not bad what are they on about’

And then I clicked the top picture

yeah what they said, i was like “what the fuck are you talking about? her chest would just be a bit more angled, wouldn’t it?” and then i clicked it and just about threw my mom’s netbook

look i understand the general point of this post being all ‘HER ANATOMY IS SO FUCKING BAD HER SPINE IS BROKEN IN TEN GODDAMN PLACES FUCK!’ but really there IS a thing called STYLIZATION of shit.

and yeah these guys are professional. meaning they kinda make their living doing this shit. telling someone to kinda quit their living after they either FUCKED UP or STYLIZED something is kinda really fucking harsh.

i dont exactly think that when people read comics or watch cartoons theyre looking for 100% fucking realism, y’know?

Stylization =/= drawing a pose that is physically possible.

Everyone has a style that they draw in that’s (generally) derived from how the human body actually works. Poses that aren’t physically possible on any character are just more or less an eye sore. (This includes people who are contortionists.)

That is not stylization. That’s a complete disregard for the Willing Suspension of Disbelief. The art piece is trying really hard to show you both boobs and both butt cheeks for no other reason other than “lol it’s a lady”. This took it too far, and created a pose that does not exist and cuts the suspension of disbelief entirely.

I completely agree. Artistic liberty can only go so far…
